ART

Brush Strokes caries a fabulous selection of original art in oils, acrylic, water colours and amazing photographs.

The majority of the art is sourced from local artists – living in or around the communities of Carleton Place, Almonte, Perth, Smith Falls, Ashton and Ottawa. Occasionally, there are stunning pieces from further abroad.

The art in the gallery is on display for only one month at a time and is refreshed on the first weekend of each month. This gives our shopping customers and local artists more opportunities to show and appreciate the incredible talent of the artists in our community.

Brush Strokes has also set aside a special room (the Feature Artist Room) to show-case our artist of the month. In honour of this individual (sometimes a group) we host a monthly Vernissage to celebrate the new art in the store. Our Vernissage is an informal evening where you have a chance to meet and talk to the feature artist. Beverages , munchies and live entertainment are provided as well – and it’s free. They are a lot of fun and have become a bit of a social event each month in Carleton Place.

We are always eager to show off new talent. New artists are encouraged to contact us directly.

We have over 60 artisans on display. There is something for everyone. Drop in and have a look for yourself. We are confident you won’t be disappointed. We have gifts for all occasions.
