"Aili Kurtis"

From March 3 through April 5 Brush Strokes Gallery in Carleton Place will host the amazing works of Aili Kurtis. Raised in Ywllowknife, NWT, Aili studied art at the Ontario College of Art and the Univserty of Quebec, where she earned a BA in Art Education.  Before devoting her life to full-time painting, she was the Creative Director of Corel Corporation, and has taught landscape and portaiture at the Ottawa School of Art. Aili's reverence for the land and its natural beauty have inspired her to paint the rhythms of the Canadian landscape in oils, acrylics and pastels.  She potrays not only "what is", but explores the syncretic patterns that emerge from cast-off shadows and reflections - which adds an underlying abstract quality to her imagery. Come see the outstanding works of Aili Kurtis - an event well worth your time.
